Stacie Passon's debut feature riveted, excited and involved me like few did this year.  This well-crafted and astutely directed story of a woman's intellectual and sexual journey through middle-age is anchored by Robin Weigert's outstanding work as Abby, a woman whose wife no longer offers the pleasure and intimacy she once knew.  "Concussion" is a refreshing and mature look at a woman's struggle to stay alive in her relationship.  Abby's compartmentalized life features children in her marriage and sexual episodes with various women in a New York City loft across from her New Jersey home.  Subtle, striking work at every turn, Ms. Weigert's wonderfully intricate, layered performance was the year's best.

Released October 2013.  Rated R.  One hour 36 minutes.  Review.  Distributor: RadiusTWC
