Tonight the Screen Actors Guild lifted the Oscar prospects of "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri", lauding Martin McDonagh's drama with three SAG Awards.

The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on the film side of things, made "Three Billboards" a springboard to a possible night to remember at the Oscars in March.  The film won the top award of Outstanding Ensemble Cast In A Motion Picture, and both Frances McDormand (Outstanding Female Actor) and Sam Rockwell (Outstanding Male Supporting Actor) also won.

"Three Billboards", about a woman seeking justice for her daughter, has gained momentum after a win two weeks ago at the Golden Globes for Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor.  On Tuesday Mr. McDonagh's film is expected to be nominated in multiple categories during the Academy's Oscar nominations announcement.

On Saturday night "The Shape Of Water" got a major boost winning the Producers Guild Of America Best Picutre award, putting it as a top contender for Oscars.  Now Mr. McDonagh's film joins "Shape", which was shut out tonight at the SAG Awards, as was "Get Out" and "Lady Bird".

In other SAG film awards categories tonight Gary Oldman won Best Male Actor for playing Winston Churchill in "Darkest Hour" and Allison Janney won Outstanding Female Supporting Actor for "I, Tonya".
