Fascination. Absorption. Rohrshach test. The costumes.
The acting. Jonny Greenwood's score. Paul Thomas Anderson's
direction.
These aren't the only reasons I have seen "Phantom Thread", a film I simply
adore, six times at the movies.
It is the atmosphere, the tension and the inside look at relationships and how
some people in them behave in an abusive, awkward and obnoxious manner toward
each other.
Six times.
I'm now at the point where I can hear Daniel Day-Lewis muttering "oh Christ"
quietly under his breath before a critical scene at a dinner table.
