Those of a certain age will remember Jim Henson's "The Muppet Show" on television in the late 1970s and early 1980s.  That rousing introduction song, ending with, "this is what we call the Muppet Show!" and that crescendo.  Cue the amazing Gonzo blowing his out of tune trumpet.  Those memories and more are recreated and reinvigorated in "The Muppets" and to fine effect, as the Muppets return to the big screen in triumphant, entertaining style.

In Los Angeles, the Muppet Theater (cheekily taking the El Capitan Theater name) which has been closed for years, is about to be taken over by none other than Tex Richman (Chris Cooper), and adjacent to

"The Muppets" is rated R by the Motion Picture Association Of America for some language.  There is also nudity.  The film's running time is one hour and 39 minutes.
